(BIMINI, BAHAMAS)

AUGUST 19 - 25, 2023

Total package price starting at $2040 pp

This package includes accommodation, diving, all meals and beverages... and more!

Only a few cabins left!

This is a great opportunity for new divers to get more dives logged and see some great marine life!

Advanced divers will love this trip, too
it’s a classic Aquatic adventure that we love doing every year

All divers are now required to be nitrox certified as they only fill nitrox on board.

Juliet Liveaboard

August 19 - 25

Welcome aboard! Juliet has 6 air conditioned private cabins, comfortably sleeping 2 people per cabin, either in one large bed or with a convenient fold-down bunk for separate sleeping arrangements.

There are two cabin styles: Ensuite and Standard. Ensuite simply means there is a private head and shower in the cabin, standard cabins share 3 heads and 2 shower areas throughout the boat.

STANDARD

  • One double bed for couples or fold-down bunk for solo divers

  • Ample storage

  • Private sink in cabin

  • Beds oriented fore and aft

Ensuite

  • Private head and shower in the cabin

  • Ample storage space

  • Two separate beds for couples or singles

  • Extra-long bed for divers over 6’ tall

  • A fold-down bunk for families with small children

  • Two portholes

All meals, snacks, hors d’oeveres and beverages (soda, juices, beer, wine and liquor) are included.

Scuba Diving

The Bahamas aboard the Juliet are simply different. We sail and dive where no one else goes. You won’t see another dive boat – or any boat, some days – for miles. We start out diving the Bimini Chain and will routinely travel to its southernmost island of Orange Cay, stopping at dive sites such as Bull Run, Nodules Wall, and Victory Reef, to name a few of the abundant choices. From Orange Cay, we continue south along the edge of the Grand Bahama Bank, deep into Santaren Channel. These remote sites are some of our best-kept secrets, dove exclusively by Juliet passengers, and host and abundance of life comparable to premier dive destinations around the world.

This SCUBA part includes up to 20 dives.

What if I need a roommate?

If you would like to have a roommate but don't not have one identified yet, then we will initially only charge the double occupancy rate. Aquatic Adventures Ohio will work to find you a roommate; however, if a roommate cannot be found then you are responsible for paying the single occupancy rate.

are meals INCLUDED?

Yes!

All meals and beverages on board are included.

are GRATUITIES included?

No, these are not included yet. Across the liveaboard industry in the US and Caribbean, tips are not included in the price of the trip. A suggested gratuity of 10-15% is greatly appreciated.

Do I have to be certified to go SCUBA diving?

Yes, an Open Water Certification is required to go SCUBA diving.

If you haven’t gotten certified yet, you don’t know what you’re missing!
You can do your classroom work before your trip and then do your checkout dives on vacation!

Can I go diving just a few times? Or do I have to dive every day?

The first rule of diving (well, one of the first rules) is to call a dive if you aren’t comfortable. This means that if you have signed up to go diving one day and you don’t feel comfortable, please don’t get in the water.
That said, this is a personal choice and not one that will result in a refund of money.

is the use of reef-safe sunscreen required?

It is not required, but it is strongly recommend to use of reef-friendly sunscreens to help keep the ocean’s corals healthy. Research estimates that 4-6,000 metric tons of sunscreen wash off swimmers into the ocean annually, and most of these sunscreens contain ingredients that cause harmful algae blooms and coral bleaching. Please check your sunscreens and avoid those that contain benzophenon/oxybenzone. To do your part, use biodegradablenatural sunscreens to help protect the reefs.

Look for sunscreens that have active ingredients such as titanium dioxide or zinc oxide.

What are the water temps in bimini in august?

September is the warmest month in st. Lucia. With water reaching 88°F at most and 87°F on average, spending time in the water is very pleasant.

A 3mm “shorty” wetsuit is recommended except for rainy days and multiple diving a 3mm "full wetsuit" would be better.

(the local dive shop will have wetsuits available; however, if you prefer to try them on in advance, Aquatic Adventures can assist you with a rental or purchase of a new wetsuit!)

What dive gear is included?

  • Tanks

  • Weights

  • Weight belts

  • Fishing and spearfishing equipment

  • Nitrox

Is Nitrox available?

Yes!

On this trip a Nitrox certification is required, as they only have Nitrox on board of the Juliet LOB.

can i dive with gloves/knives?

Yes, but remember gloves are for the mooring line only, not to protect your hands to touch the coral. Juliet LOB adheres to a strict no touch/no take policy on all of their trips and destinations, with the exception of garbage, and lionfish. Take only pictures, leave only bubbles, kill only time and lionfish.

Are sheets / towels / soaps provided?

Yes, Juliet LOB provides all linens, shower and deck towels, and there are shampoos, and soaps in all of the shower areas. If you like something specific feel free to bring it with you.

Is there internet access or cell phone reception on board?

There is no internet or wifi on board while you are out on charter. Juliet LOB has a dedicated satellite email system but no ability to browse the internet or check personal email accounts. When within site of land in the Bahamas, VIs, and Puerto Rico your US phone will most likely work, but please check with your provider for fee schedules and roaming charged that might be incurred.

In case of an emergency: On the boat, in addition to a VHF radio, Juliet LOB has a satellite phone and e-mail. Passengers can use these for ship to shore communication. There is a fee for non-emergency use. Your family and friends at home should contact Juliet Sailing and Diving at 1-866-5JULIET (558-5438) and they will contact the boat.

How does someone get in touch with me on board in case of an emergency?

On the boat, in addition to a VHF radio, we have a satellite phone and e-mail (contact the office for the address). Passengers can use these for ship to shore communication. There is a fee for non-emergency use. Your family and friends at home should contact Juliet Sailing and Diving at 1-866-5JULIET (558-5438) and we will contact the boat.

Are there outlets in my cabin?

Yes, there are normal household 110v outlets throughout the boat, in all cabins and the main salon for you to use. And yes, there are some near the beds if you need to use a CPAP at night. If you need an extension cord just ask the crew when you board.

Do not leave items while charging unattended and unplug all chargers overnight for everyone’s safety.

Can I fish onboard?

Yes, we strongly encourage lionfish hunting as they are invasive – and very tasty. Other fishing is allowed but we’d honestly rather you hunt the lionfish instead. Better to take the fish that aren’t supposed to be there and give the endemic fish a break!

Will I get seasick?

Possibly, and if it is going to happen it usually occurs on the first day before you’ve grown your sea legs. If you have any concerns and are thinking of taking a Dramamine type product, it is recommended to start taking these products 24hrs prior to departure. Read the product label before use.

How much cash should I bring? Are credit cards accepted on board?

Please be sure to bring $120 in cash for the Bahamas customs fee, and crew gratuity is preferred in cash. We are able to accept credit cards (MC, visa, discover preferred) for any purchases made while on board.
