The hotel has two restaurants on site. Molly’s beachside bar and grill where you can enjoy the views of the Atlantic Ocean and beach while sipping on a cold drink or just relaxing with a casual meal. July 10:
Arrival
Atlantic Beach is situated on a beautiful barrier island bordered by the Atlantic Ocean and Bogue Sound. Known for their abundance of wide sandy beaches and nearly endless choices of oceanfront entertainment.
*Lodging (4nt): Doubletree Atlantic Beach Oceanfront
SCUBA ADD-ON : Half-day Shallow dive
Dive sites are chosen the day of the dive trip based on what conditions allow. The dive operator can NOT guarantee a specific dive itinerary including a dive on the U-352 or a wreck with sharks, but will do their best with safety in mind.
Dive trips depart from the dive shop (where the boats are docked) and begin a 2-hour boat ride out to the dive sites. The Full Day dive trip consists of 2 dives (recreational/no deco dive limits), with a 1 -1/2 – 2-hour surface interval in between.
Minimum Requirements for Shallow Water Wreck (Two Tank) Trips:
- Open Water Certified
- Minimum of 10 Logged Dives
- One Boat Ocean Dive
- Two Dives in the Last 12 Months
- Minimum Age – 12 years old
If a diver does not meet all of these requirements for the Shallow dive trips, they must either be under the direct supervision of the group leader/instructor or hire one of a dive guide from the dive operator (at an additional cost).
July 11:
Free day -
Take today to unwind on the loungers on the beach overlooking the ocean and the pier. Or cool off at one of the two pools at the hotel. Lay in the outdoor pool while overlooking the beach and ocean or enjoy the quiet of the indoor pool.
We recommend visiting the Atlantic Beach Boardwalk. Lining the short stretch of boardwalk are numerous beach shops and eateries, along with benches and picnic tables for vacationers to sit, relax and take in the beautiful views.
SCUBA ADD-ON : U-352 / W.E. Hutton (aka Papoose) -Full day Deep Wreck Dives (2 tanks) - AOW+
Minimum Requirements for Deep Water Wreck Trips:
- Advanced Open Water Certified (Preferred)
- Minimum of 25 Logged Dives
- Two Boat Ocean Dives in their Diving career
- Two Dives to 70 feet or greater
- Two Dives in the Last 12 Months
- Minimum Age – 15 years old
Additionally, the Shallow Full Day Dive (2 Tank) trips available to shipwrecks and artificial reefs sit in about 60 feet of water. These dives are ideal for divers who either do not meet the minimum requirements for the deeper Full Day dive trip or would benefit from doing a shallow wreck dive from a boat.
July 12:
Free day - Fort Macon state park
Take today to unwind on the loungers on the beach overlooking the ocean and the pier. Or cool off at one of the two pools at the hotel. Lay in the outdoor pool while overlooking the beach and ocean or enjoy the quiet of the indoor pool.
We recommend visiting the Fort Macon State Park, where you can take a step back in time and explore some of North Carolina’s history. Surrounded by a beach that is accessible to the public, this 389-acre park is a perfectly restored Civil War-era fort, first constructed as a defense to thwart the region’s infamous pirate attacks.
Here you can learn about life on the battlefield and how the Civil War took place by the coast. The beaches that border the fort on both the ocean and sound side are perfect for leisurely strolls, taking in the incredible views, fishing and shelling.
SCUBA ADD-ON : Ashkhabad/ Indra-Full day Shallow Wreck Dives (2 tanks) - OW+

July 13:
Free day - Cape Lookout
Take today to unwind on the loungers on the beach overlooking the ocean and the pier. Or cool off at one of the two pools at the hotel. Lay in the outdoor pool while overlooking the beach and ocean or enjoy the quiet of the indoor pool.
We recommend visiting Cape Lookout. Of all the things to do in Atlantic Beach, this is one that you absolutely should not miss: a day trip to nearby Cape Lookout National Seashore will introduce you to a completely different side of the Crystal Coast that you can’t get by staying on the mainland
Be sure to climb the lighthouse itself for absolutely magnificent views. The bright, shallow water on the beach that is more reminiscent of the Mediterranean Sea than most of the typical beaches on the Crystal Coast, and look for wild horses across the water on Shackleford Banks!
July 14:
Departure
Today is time to say goodbye (for now).
After breakfast you will transfer to the airport for your flight home.
Bon Voyage!

F.A.Q.
What time should I arrive in Madrid?
Often times, others in your group are flying from the same airport. You may want to consult with your group to see what flight they are all on so that you can travel with them!
We do suggest arrivingin Madrid around 2 or 3pm on March 10.
What time is the check in to the hotel?
Check in at your hotel will not be until 3pm at the earliest.
If you arrive early, or your room is not yet ready for you to check in when you arrive, you may be able to leave your bags with the front desk and they will keep them securely held behind the desk while you go out and eat or explore the city until your room is ready.
Do I have to wear my mask the whole time?
At this time, Yes.
To keep everyone as safe as possible, we require the wearing of masks in all public areas and while on the bus.
When you are on your own, please follow all local laws-ask your guide if you are unsure about each city's current COVID19 Mask policy.
How much luggage can I bring on this trip?
Space on the bus allows for 1 piece of luggage per person (regular size, 20kg)
Is breakfast included?
Yes!
The serving times vary by hotel (they will tell you at check-in), but usually breakfast is served starting at 6:30am.
How dressy is too dressy?
You can still dress up if you like!
But you will fit in just as well if you want to do more of a business casual attire instead.
What should I bring on the bus each day?
Snacks and a water bottle.
Since you’ll be on the bus all day (most days), we encourage you to bring some snacks and a water bottle with you to keep up your energy!
Camera
You know we all love seeing your photos of the adventures you have together!
Cash
You’ll be purchasing lunch each day, and possibly purchasing souvenirs along the way.
Is there a bathroom on the bus?
Yes.
Will there be electric outlets on the bus?
Usually there are, yes. …. but we cannot guarantee it.
We’ve tried to get a more solid answer for this question, but the bus won’t be officially assigned until just before the start of the tour.
It’s rare not to have electric outlets somewhere on a 55 passenger touring bus; however, it has happened before.
If having a power source is important to you, we recommend bringing a portable power bank with you to charge your devices on the road.
How much should I tip the guide and driver?
They worked hard for you all week- please take care of them appropriately.
Please consider a tip of (at least):
$32/pp for the driver
$56/pp for the guide
(so- that’s a minimum of $88 per person) -(and yes, cash is best)
You can tip at any point in the tour; however, it is customary to tip on the last tour day (before you get off the bus at the hotel in Barcelona.)
It is also customary to tip any other guides that may lead part of your itinerary- $5-8/pp is a nice gesture.
Can I pay by Zelle?
Yes!
We started taking Zelle payments last month and we found this to be a fast and FREE way to pay!
For those who don’t know what Zelle is… it is very much like a wire transfer (but it is not a wire transfer).
Everyone’s bank is different, though, so you may want to call/go in to your local bank and ask to have the maximum amount available to transfer every day.
Example: Some banks only allow $500/day transfer. Other banks will allow $1200/day.
Always be careful when making payments through Zelle to people that you do not know. There is no protection guarantee provided and you cannot reverse the fee.
The Pros for using Zelle:
It is FREE (no processing fees)!
It is instantaneous (funds will go directly to Zone Travel- so this is the absolute fastest way to make a payment)
The Cons for using Zelle:
Every bank is different when it comes to maximum amount available to be transferred every day. So, this may mean that you need to make multiple payments to Zone Travel, multiple days in a row.
It does require an app download onto your phone, and you need to set up your account with your bank information.
Can I pay by check?
Yes!
If you would like to avoid the 4%processing fees, you may pay by check.
It is very important that you pay in advance of the deadlines and allow ample time for delivery.
You can make checks payable to “Zone Travel”
Please mail your checks (allowing 3-5 business days for delivery - PRIOR to deadline) to:
Zone Travel
PO Box 12052
Columbus, OH 43212
Payments received after the deadline could result in cancelation of your reservation or increased fees.
