Oktoberfest and BMW Tour
Enjoy the festivities and bier gardens with your family and friends!
Fun Fact: It all began with the wedding of the Bavarian crown prince Ludwig (later known as King Ludwig I) to princess Therese from Saxony-Hildburghausen (hence the name of the Theresienwiese or Therese's green) on October 12, 1810.
Five days later, the National Guard organized a large public horse race to ensure that the Bavarian folk could also partake in the wedding celebration. It was decided that the festival should be repeated at the same time the following year, which marked the birth of the "October-Festivals".
BMW Welt and Museum
After enjoying Oktoberfest in the afternoon, take a break from the festivities to check out the BMW Welt and Museum with a guided tour.

Munich Walking Tour
It can’t allllll be drinking (well, I suppose it could- but you’re in a brilliant historical European city! Seize the day!)
A tour of downtown Munich's sights, sounds, and 'beverages. ' From the beginnings, with Henry the Lion, to the rise of the Nazi party, Munich is full of amazing sights and stories.
We wander the city leisurely taking in all that it has to offer. We will poke our head into two of my favorite churches to see the tomb of Ludwig II and the Devils Footprint.
Then over to the Royal Residenz for more stories of revolution and courage.
Our lunch break will be in a favorite restaurant in the city before we spend the afternoon strolling through the famous Viktualienmarkt and the amazing Isatorplatz.

This private tour is perfect for those wishing to discover this history. . .
This half day tour covers the famous Eagle's Nest and many of the other historically important sites on the Obersalzberg, including the more hidden locations that most tourists never hear about.

Passion Play
Those who are interested in attending the Passion Play, will have a chauffeured vehicle drive them the 1.5hr distance to Oberammergau, just south of Munich.
Vehicle will depart at 11am and return after the play (approximately midnight)
The history of the Oberammergau Passion Play begins in 1633. In the midst of the Thirty Years’ War, after months of suffering and dying from the plague, the people of Oberammergau pledged to act out the »play of the suffering, death and resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ« once every 10 years.
In a five-hour-performance, more than 2000 participants bring the story of Jesus of Nazareth to the impressive open-air stage of the Passion Play Theatre.

Oktoberfest Tickets & Reservations
Oktoberfest tickets (and by that we really mean beer tent reservations) can only be purchased directly from the individual beer tents themselves and can be extremely difficult to get. Again, if you plan to make reservations, ONLY purchase beer tent tickets directly from the tents. Never buy them via some “online ticket reseller” or eBay or out of the back of someone’s minivan, for instance.
It is illegal to purchase beer tent tickets through a third party and, besides, those situations are likely a scam where you’ll end up with no Oktoberfest reservations but a whole lotta debt and regret. (Come on, nothing good ever came out of the back of someone’s minivan, right?)
How much does a reservation in a beer tent cost?
The reservation itself – just like entry to the Wiesn and the beer tents – is free. However you need to buy and pay for vouchers in advance. These are tokens, for example for 2 liters of beer and a half chicken per person.
How many people do you need to make a table reservation?
“Table for two at the Wiesn” – we don’t do that at Oktoberfest. Companionship is the order of the day and reservations are only taken for whole tables. Our tables seat 8 to 10 people. The vouchers for a table cost on average about 350 euros in total, in some tents more.
